“Keeping things on an even keel is not as easily as it always looks…And just like Mother Nature’s framework, a new automotive suspension created by Packard and using full-length torsion bars has been designed to take you smoothly and safely over even roughest roads…”

Packard was not the first to use torsion bar suspension. The first mass produced car using it was the famous front wheel drive Citroën Traction Avan dating from 1934. It featured an independent front torsion bar suspension and a flexible trailing dead axle, also sprung by torsion bars.
